are articles and PLR worth buying ?

There’s even more and more sites selling pre-written articles for the lazy and uninitiated.

The problems with us humans is that we are inherently lazy and want instant results. So as life moves on we all know that the search engines just love large sites. Not only that of course, but if you have 100,000 pages indexed in google the chances of getting visitors is tons higher than if you just had 100 pages.

But of course it’s not good enough for most webmasters to develop content themselves - they must get someone else to do it !

So, rant over for the moment - is all of this worth it? The article sites and PLR (private label articles) and the like?

Most of the companies supplying these articles is so people can add thousands to their website and put adsense code on their site to entice people to click on the ads. The trouble with the article sites is they tend to do two bad things:

1: Have memberships in the thousands so that thousands of people have access to the same content and post onto their website so that you get straight into duplicate content penalties.

2: A lot of sites just re-hash the newly available pre1912 material that is free of copyright (That’s right, anything that was published before 1912 is free for anyone to publish online or anywhere else and you are not infringing copyright - so a lot of PLR companies are now just taking this and putting it out as their own - easy really)

So the trouble with both methods is that you fall into duplicate content hell and actually don’t benefit at all.

The best way to get content onto your site is to write it yourself or get someone else to write it for you - don’t go buying into these article and PLR sites (but if you do, check out any sentance in google and see how many others have the same article on their site - generally all the articles directories !)
