Adsense You Are Not Authorized To View This Page

Have you seen sites with a big space and the words “you are not authorized to view this page” ?  This is where a site has their adsense code posted but they are suspended from the adsense program.

The error is shown in internet explorer and is a 403 - forbidden error - you may see some of the adsense iframe but the bulk will be this message. See how it might look here :

This error message is only shown in internet explorer so if you are on firefox or another browser check in IE beforehand.

This is one way of checking a site before purchase.

Most people looking to buy sites really just want to stick adsense onto their sites to make money and sometimes it is difficult to know if a site owner has had adsense on their site previously and got banned.

If they still have the code then of course you will see it - but if the site owner is not forthcoming with information what else can you check ?

The easiest is to use the google adsense preview tool at https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/topic.py?topic=160 where you can type in website pages and see what is displayed

If nothing is displayed then you know you have a problem (or the website has a problem anyhow).

If you get google messages that say no ads are available, the page contains senstive content or the page has not been crawled then this may be no bad thing. It’s error messages that are the issue.

So now you know why the message “you are not authorized to view this page” comes up on websites.
