one page sales letters SEO
One element of SEO that confused most people is trying to optimize a one page sales letter site. These are sites where the main index page is a very long sales letter - maybe 40 pages of text and images like a direct sales letter that describe users’ problems and how this service or product is going to solve those issues.
Now we won’t go into the positives and negatives about a long sales letter, but if you have (say) 150 keyword phrases you want to target, how do you go about optimizing your one page for all these phrases with SEO ?
Well the simple answer is you don’t !
Treat your one page website like any other site. Generally, your index page is your most important and this is where you want to add most of your most important keyword phrases.
As a general rule, simply set your sales letter up so that you are targeting maybe 6-8 keyword phrases. Structure your title tag to cover most of these and structure your description for all of these. As with general SEO add in your H1 and H2 tags down the page as best you can so that you don’t upset the actual flow of your sales letter.
So what about the rest of your 140 keyword phrases ?
Well some of these CAN be set amongst your sales letter but others can be devoted to additional articles on your website. So your one page letter website actually becomes a 20 page site - the index page still being the main long sales letter but the other 19 pages being articles that cover the rest of the keywords you want to target.
Set the articles up as you would with any other SEO’d pages you have on your site but ensure you have big links back to your main sales page so that anyone landing on an article page is taken to your sales page instantly (or is at least enrolled in your newsletter so you can re-direct at a later stage)
The links you have in your articles back to your main sales page will also boost the keywords for the index page.
You could also add adsense to these pages although you won’t make as much as if you sold your actual product. The key is to get visitors to your domain anyway possible. Once they are at your website then it’s up to you to be able to channel your prospects to the correct place.
So with your one page sale letters simply set your website up as you would with any other website you own. And don’t forget to keep adding pages to keep your site fresh.
