MSN search engine optimization

MSN is thought to be the easiest of the search engines to get page 1 rankings within. But even if you have a number one ranking the traffic you receive may be minimal because it’s the least used of all the major search engines.

However, saying that, getting a number 1 ranking will show that you have all the neccessary SEO tactics within your site and have the correct linking structure in your site and from other external forces. Here are the basics that should get you ranking well in MSN:

1- Use any .com or .net type of name, new or old, it doesn’t really matter.
2- Put your main keywords into the title, but don’t spam the title

3- Create one sentence, but avoid a period at the end.
4- Add alt tags within your images and put your main and secondary keywords in there.
5- Write good but short content paragraphs. Have around four paragraphs in total and try to keep them within 6-10 sentences per paragraph. Use your main keywords with your secondary keywords.
6- Get direct links from blogs. The fastest and easiest way is through blogs, but not with blog comments.

Make a few of your own blogs on blogspot or even msn live and link to your site within the content. Use anchor text keywords as the links and put the link on the blogroll area. Keep the blogs fresh with content and theme related to your niche site. You should update your blogs twice a day, and only ping all your posts once per update using a service such as pingoat.
7- Wait about 10 days and you should be in the top 20 - continue making blogs and posting to your new blogs and  get links from other blogs or sites that are kept fresh on a regular basis (make sure they are all indexed in msn too).

Remember however it’s best to target niche topics first rather than trying to rank for the big money terms.
