oh my, how many people say “yeah, I’m listed in google” or you see adverts where people tell you “we guarantee to get you listed in google within 24 hours”

Folks, this is a load of rubbish.

Sure, your website is listed in google (if you perform a site:www .yourdomain.com) but where is it in the search engine results pages? Where - no where that’s where.

When people say you get listed in google what they mean is google will come along and spider your site and add it into their database. But if you haven’t undertaken any form of SEO or got any links to your site - your site will be exactly … no where in the results.

So resist these temptations and also resist companies that say they will submit your website to 3,000 search engines - and continue to do this monthly. Really it’s a waste of time and money.

To get listed and get rankings simply begin to build links into your site. That’s the way of getting listed in Google.
